Dialog about EU climate policy

12. October 2020 DRÄXLMAIER participates in a position paper for a climate neutral economy in Europe.

On the occasion of the EU Council Summit on Oct. 15 and 16, the 2° Foundation has published a position paper on the upcoming important milestones of EU climate policy. The paper was prepared on the basis of a dialog with well-known German companies from numerous important sectors - including DRÄXLMAIER. The participating companies contributed their perspectives and know-how to the preceding discussions, from which the Stiftung 2° derived demands.

Political course-setting

The paper calls for a political framework for a climate-neutral economy in Europe. Large parts of the business community want to make their contribution to meeting the Paris climate targets and a powerful EU Green Deal. This requires political instruments that enable companies to initiate the necessary transformation processes and remain internationally competitive.

Constructive cooperation

"We face the task of transforming the economy for a climate-neutral future. With our active participation in the position paper of the 2° Foundation on EU climate policy, we are making constructive suggestions on how a climate-neutral Europe can succeed with innovation and growth," says Prof. Dr. Dr. Jörg-Markus Elsenbach, Head of the Governance function of DRÄXLMAIER and overall responsible for sustainability management. "It is very important to us that, especially in these times, future fields of climate policy and key technologies are promoted in a targeted manner", emphasizes Prof. Elsenbach. DRÄXLMAIER has been committed to more sustainability for many years. This applies to the DRÄXLMAIER products as well as to the processes of the company.
