Gianni, Transformation Lead in Vilsbiburg, Germany has been working at DRÄXLMAIER since 2010

Digitalization and landscape photography

“The automotive industry is currently undergoing a major historical revolution. DRÄXLMAIER has taken on this challenge and initiated a unique transformation,” says Gianni. As Transformation Lead, the experienced engineer has been responsible for the complete digital restructuring of the company since February 2022. “Shaping this transformation is incredibly exciting – but quite a challenge, too. After all, the future doesn’t wait,” says Gianni.

“My main focus is on analyzing and designing processes, methods, tools, and people’s current and future fields of action. Orchestrating this combination is an important key to success,” says Gianni. His German-Italian roots and multicultural upbringing come in handy with this task. “Transformation requires an open mind and the ability to think in terms of limitless possibilities. When you do that, it’s absolutely fascinating.”

What issues are at the top of the agenda?

“My tasks revolve around the largest transformation programs currently underway at DRÄXLMAIER,” says Gianni. “The digital core of the strategic Digital Transformation focus program includes the implementation of SAP S/4HANA, product lifecycle management, and shop floor management.” Bringing all this together under one roof strengthens the company’s competitive edge and future-proof orientation, he explains. “I look forward to continue driving DRÄXLMAIER forward and creating long-term value for our customers.”

What qualities do you look for in new colleagues?

“When I recommend DRÄXLMAIER to a friend or acquaintance, the first qualities that come to mind are enthusiasm and a desire to learn new things, along with technical qualifications and the ability to work in a team,” says Gianni. “In a family business with honest, authentic values, these kinds of character traits pave the way for outstanding products, strong skills, and high quality standards.” This almost automatically leads to new, varied tasks and excellent opportunities for development. “After all, the world doesn’t stand still,” says Gianni, “which is why we should help shape the changes that are coming.”

Photographing landscapes is Gianni's passion - like here in Montalcino, Italy.

What’s the most important quality in your life?

“I’m a very empathetic person and my multicultural roots enable me to easily relate to other cultures. I enjoy the diversity of working with other countries and I love capturing landscapes in my photographs.” Once a year Gianni travels for at least a week with his camera. His next destination is the Lofoten Islands in Norway. “My highlight so far has been The Wave, a rock formation in northern Arizona carved out by erosion. I've visited it five times and the landscape looks different every time,” Gianni says. “I don’t edit the images; I want them to remain pure. This is also my attitude: Openness creates clarity.”
