40 years of DRÄXLMAIER Landau

17. September 2024 The automotive supplier is celebrating the anniversary of a successful traditional location.

The first order in 1984, the production of a wiring harness for a vehicle model from a premium manufacturer, was the starting signal for one of the DRÄXLMAIER Group's most traditional locations today. This year, the Landau an der Isar location can look back on a successful 40-year history - and at the same time is technologically up to date and well prepared for the future. The automotive supplier took the anniversary on Friday as an opportunity to celebrate together with representatives from the Landau location, the company management and regional politicians. An additional 40 colleagues from various functions were invited to represent all employees.

40 years full of success and commitment
Chairman Fritz Dräxlmaier paid tribute to the long history of the location in a speech: "40 years - that's four decades full of challenges, successes and, above all, commitment. Commitment from people who have made this location what it is today: an essential pillar of our DRÄXLMAIER corporate family."

Over the decades, the location has mastered numerous transformations, continuously expanded its local competencies - and thus remained permanently successful. Just a few years after the electrical plant opened, the company set up an injection molding production facility for the production of interiors in Landau. The company-wide competence center for plastic injection molding is still located at the site today. In 2016, the company also invested in a modern logistics center. After Landau played an important role in interior production within the DRÄXLMAIER Group for decades, the team started a transformation process a few years ago that led to the assembly of high-voltage batteries. In this way, premium customers can be offered the right solutions locally, even in view of the growing importance of electromobility.

Firmly rooted in the region
DRÄXLMAIER Landau has been firmly rooted in the region for 40 years. Landau's First Mayor Matthias Kohlmayer and District Administrator Werner Bumeder emphasized the importance of the company for the region in their welcoming speeches. "The DRÄXLMAIER site in Landau is a shining example of entrepreneurial success and regional responsibility in the Dingolfing-Landau district. At this anniversary celebration, we are not only celebrating the successes of the past, but also the visions for the future. I would like to congratulate the entire team on this special occasion and look forward to further joint development and innovation in our region," said District Administrator Bumeder.

"I wish DRÄXLMAIER all the best for its 40th birthday," said Mayor Kohlmayer, who continued: "The year 2024 is a wonderful year for birthdays, because the city of Landau is also celebrating its 800th birthday here. I am sure that with this energy, innovative ability and adaptability, the DRÄXLMAIER company in Landau will be able to celebrate at least 760 more great birthdays."

Well prepared for the future
The two Landau site managers Florenz Schneider and Georg Wachtmeister also looked back on the site's long history in a joint speech and thanked the employees for their great commitment. At the same time, Schneider and Wachtmeister looked ahead. Georg Wachtmeister emphasized: "The world is constantly changing, and with it the demands on our company. We are convinced that with our commitment, creativity and determination, which have brought the Landau site to this point, we will continue to be successful in the future."
