DRÄXLMAIER becomes the name sponsor of the elementary school league

30. November 2023 The Baskets Vilsbiburg's ambitious project is starting its second season.

A year ago, the Vilsbiburg basketball players started an ambitious project: the establishment of a primary school league beyond the city limits. For the second season that is now starting, DRÄXLMAIER, a loyal partner of Baskets Vilsbiburg since 2008, has expanded its commitment and is now acting as the name sponsor of the ambitious project, the “Baskets Elementary School League powered by DRÄXLMAIER Group”.

“The Baskets Vilsbiburg have been doing excellent work for young talent for many years, which we as a family business are very happy to support,” emphasizes Olivier Dubois, responsible for marketing and communication at the DRÄXLMAIER Group. “With the “Primary School League”, the club launched another creative project last year that gets numerous children across the region excited about sport and exercise,” says Dubois.

In 2023/24, seven schools from the region will be taking part
The primary school league developed into a real success story within just one year. The Peter and Paul elementary schools from Landshut as well as the Vilsbiburg, Pauluszell, Aich and Altfraunhofen elementary schools were already there in the first season. In the 2023/2024 season, two more schools, the Geisenhausen and Adlkofen elementary schools, will be added, so that seven schools are now taking part in the elementary school league. “The primary school league has been well received by the students. We are particularly pleased that DRÄXLMAIER, our long-standing partner, is supporting this project as a name sponsor,” says Baskets youth coordinator Jodi Kreutzer.

Jodi Kreutzer and Arne Stecher, who has been working as a full-time junior coach for the Baskets for a year, are in charge of the primary school league. Once a week, the two of them and their team of trainers offer a 45-60 minute training session at seven primary schools as well as at the Montessori School in Geisenhausen and at the MMG Vilsbiburg. On the game days organized and carried out by the Baskets, the schools compete against each other in order to apply what they have learned in game practice. A total of five match days are planned for the 2023/2024 season. It starts on the first weekend of Advent. The remaining match days follow before the carnival, Easter, Whitsun and summer holidays.
