Immerse yourself in the world of apprenticeships
Children and young people were invited to the eighth Night of Training with their friends and families on Friday evening to get to know the company's apprenticeships for themselves - this time in the completely new training facilities in the extension of the DRÄXLMAIER Technology Center. Try soldering, filing, programming or working with leather yourself - and experience first hand what a job entails. The many visitors to the Night of Training were able to do this.
Optimal learning environment with a high degree of practical relevance
"The Night of Training is a very important event for us to show what characterizes an apprenticeship in our company and to make personal contact with interested young people from the region. We were particularly pleased that we were able to show visitors our training in the new, great facilities," said HR manager Roland Polte. In the new building, the automotive supplier has created an optimal learning environment for its apprentices. The workshops are equipped with state-of-the-art systems and machines, among other things, so that the young people are ideally prepared for their later professional lives. "We can simulate realistic application cases, which means that the training has the greatest possible practical relevance," explains Barbara Gerber, who is responsible for international training.
There was also particularly great interest in the tour of the battery testing & validation and special machine construction areas, which are located in the same building and offered visitors exciting insights into current technology topics in the automotive industry.
As the training manager goes on to explain, there are still vacancies for the coming training year, which begins in the fall, in the professions of warehouse logistics specialist, foreign language industrial clerk and electronics technician for devices and systems. "It's always nice when students apply for a training place or do a trial internship with us after attending the Night of Training," says Gerber.
Try out all the professions for yourself
Together with the automotive supplier's trainees, the children and young people tried their hand at metal, electrical, programming and leather work and made small workpieces that they were allowed to take home as souvenirs. There was also an applicant training session again this year. Visitors had the opportunity to get to know the application portal and ask questions directly.
The guests had a lot of fun discovering the professions. "I think it's good that I get so much insight into the professions," says Sebastian from Geisenhausen. The 14-year-old is very interested in cars and can imagine doing an apprenticeship at DRÄXLMAIER later.
Tatjana had found out about internship and training opportunities at school beforehand. "The great thing about the training night is that I can really try out the professions myself," says the 13-year-old.
Colorful supporting program
A varied supporting program provided variety: guests could test drive an electric car, take part in a drone parkour, immerse themselves in the world of robotics and drive a kart and Segway. Many visitors also took a souvenir photo at a photo booth. A special highlight was the spectacular performance by the show team "Intoxication". Food and drinks were also provided.
