Largest team at “Landshut läuft”
The charity run 'Landshut läuft' organized by the LIONS CLUB Landshut-Wittelsbach has been the largest running event in the region for many years. All entry fees for the event are donated 100% to social projects for children and young people. Once again, over 3,000 runners took part in the 16th edition of the charity run on Sunday, April 28. With 136 participants, the DRÄXLMAIER Group was once again the largest team at this year's run and was awarded the title of “team with the most participants” in the Team Cup ranking.
Supporting social projects as a partner of the region
As a partner of the region, DRÄXLMAIER is committed to numerous projects in the areas of culture, sport, education and social projects. For this reason, the company paid the entry fee, which traditionally benefits children's and youth projects in the region, for the participating employees.
In addition, the company provided medical care for the participants at the charity run with the company medical team together with other emergency services and was on site with its health bus at the Ländtor as a contact point for emergencies. “We are delighted that we were once again able to contribute to a successful event this year,” said company doctor Andreas Müller.
Running for a good cause
DRÄXLMAIER employees took part in all four disciplines of “Landshut läuft” - the half marathon, the 5 and 10-kilometer run, as well as the Nordic walking group - and achieved some very pleasing results. However, all participants were united by their enjoyment of sport. “It was my first time taking part and I was really looking forward to it even before the run. The atmosphere, the organization and seeing so many colleagues on the course - that really motivated me! In a group, you just have the feeling that you can do it,” says Christina Weimann, an employee in the Environment Health & Safety department.
It is particularly important to the employees that their participation supports charitable projects in the region. “Landshut läuft is a great opportunity to get involved for a good cause together with colleagues,” says Robert Huber, Head of Mobility Services. “The atmosphere at the charity run was great and we were delighted to be recognized as the largest team.”
