Vladimir, trainer in Balti, Moldova, has been working at DRÄXLMAIER since 2011

A dream job

What career steps have you already taken at DRÄXLMAIER?

In 2011 I started my career as a production operator and was able to develop my career quickly via various positions in production to team leader and trainer in production. Since January 2020 I work as a trainer in professional education. Here at our location in Balti we are five trainers for the different occupations and one manager. My tasks include the collaboration with professional schools where our apprentices come from.

Our dual education system consists of 70 percent practice and 30 percent theory. After the apprentices have had their lessons with their theory teachers from the professional school, they come to the DRÄXLMAIER workshop where I prepare exercises for them based on the theory. I´m their mentor and guide them through the exercises, check the results and create custom made training plans for them according to their results. In addition I´m part of a team responsible for checking their final exams.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Sharing my experience. It is really my dream job. During my work at the training department in production I realized, that it is easy for me to explain complex things to new coworkers. So in 2020 I became trainer for professional production operation and after 1,5 years I changed to Electromechanics.

Today I not only work with apprentices, we also provide trainings for workers as well and we are planning to do much more. Right now I prepare helpful lists for my coworkers to perform their tasks even better, to understand how the equipment works and how to handle it, how to troubleshoot and so on.

Vladimir enjoys sharing his experience with apprentices and coworkers.

Do you have any hobbies, passions and talents you would like to tell us about?

My passion is electronics, I'm good at designing electronic circuits, like especially in audio amplifiers. In my free time I like to build new gadgets for my car like portable speakers and subwoofer, a backup camera and bluetooth wireless music.

Electronics has been my passion since my childhood. Whenever I saw something like a photo camera or lights and batteries I wanted to disassemble it and understand how it works. This was the reason why I chose my profession. When I wake up in the morning I look forward to the day and the tasks that are waiting for me and I fortunately do not wait until eight working hours pass.

I made my hobby my job and I think this is the main secret of success. But right know things have changed for me because I became a father and now everything is about my daughter.

He turned is hobby into a profession: electronics!

Which of your qualities are you particularly proud of?

I´m a very fair person. For example when two apprentices come to me with an issue I analyze the situation, listen to both and come to the right conclusion. And I handle my duties and responsibilities with enthusiasm always looking for continuous improvement.

To name an example I played an important role during the improvement of the final exams for the apprentices. I developed a project style exam equal for all apprentices. In their project all the skills required by apprentices are checked starting from metalworking connection to electrical pneumatic connections and the PLC programming. This makes it easier for us to find out if an apprentice is skilled or not.

We already see that they are more skilled and reach higher positions directly after their exams. This is a great success for me personally, I´m very proud of them and for the company it’s great to employ staff who have been trained within the company. We do something to keep the good people.

"I am very proud of our apprentices", says Vladimir.
