Taking responsibility by acting sustainably
The DRÄXLMAIER Group has taken on the challenges of sustainability management with new measures and initiative in 2021. How the premium supplier implemented this strategy in concrete terms over the past year is shown in its Sustainability Report 2021, which was compiled in accordance with the international reporting standards set by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). These standards help account for and report on economic, ecological and social impacts of the company's actions.
"Sustainable action is becoming a maxim in business and society, including the automotive industry. Our sustainability report shows our achievements and upcoming milestones, and gives us as a company important orientation on how to act as goal oriented as possible," said Daniel Ostner, head of Sustainability Management at DRÄXLMAIER.
Measures implemented, targets achieved
The sustainability report illustrates with concrete examples how DRÄXLMAIER succeeds by systematizing and advancing economy, ecology and social issues. For example, the DRÄXLMAIER Group has optimized its ecosolutions program to take the most comprehensive view on how its products are created. With this corporate program, DRÄXLMAIER strives to integrate ecological aspects into the entire value chain. In addition, DRÄXLMAIER implemented 259 social projects in 12 countries last year.
Since 2021, DRÄXLMAIER has also been one of the companies in Germany that stand out in their respective industries for their climate and environmental protection efforts. Among others, the German news magazine Focus recognized DRÄXLMAIER for excellent performance in climate commitment, calling it one of the best automotive suppliers in Germany in terms of sustainability management.
In terms of energy supply, the company consistently utilizes renewable energy sources. The company's share of green electricity is already at 44 percent worldwide. Foremost, the company focuses on generating its own energy from renewable sources. As a family-owned company, the DRÄXLMAIER Group will continue to act according to its values and continue push this important issue forward on its own initiative.
